Basketball Game Preview: New Utrecht Utes vs. Madison Golden Knights

New Utrecht is 2-8 against Madison since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The New Utrecht Utes will head out on the road to square off against the Madison Golden Knights at 4:30 p.m. Madison took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on New Utrecht, who comes in off a win.

New Utrecht will bounce into Monday's game after beating Fort Hamilton, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. New Utrecht enjoyed a cozy 42-26 victory over Fort Hamilton on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Utes.

Meanwhile, Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Lincoln, falling 45-20.

New Utrecht is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

New Utrecht came up short against Madison when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 47-42. Can New Utrecht avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
