Baseball Recap: Orange Grove Drops Highest Score of Season Against Banquete

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orange Grove). They blew past Banquete 15-3 on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Orange Grove with their most commanding win of the season.

Zach Wright was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hughes Klatt, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Orange Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Orange Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Banquete, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10-1 record this season.

Orange Grove will venture away from home to challenge Hondo at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Owls will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. Banquete does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
