Recap: Paul VI Eagles vs. Eastside Tigers
The Paul VI Eagles won against the Eastside Tigers on Thursday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Paul VI walked away with a 66-59 win over Eastside. The win was nothing new for Paul VI as they're now sitting on six straight.
Despite the loss, Eastside had strong showings from Will Love, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, and Jalen Long, who scored 21 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Long has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jahaan Green, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Paul VI's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Eastside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
Paul VI will be playing at home against Don Bosco Prep on Saturday. Don Bosco Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Paul VI in New Jersey (Don Bosco Prep is ranked first, while Paul VI is ranked 27th). As for Eastside, they will head out on the road to take on Camden Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Camden Catholic is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
