Softball Recap: Shepherd Takes a Loss

Clare hit Shepherd with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bluejays fell 6-1 to the Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 on Thursday.

Leela Engelhardt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Shepherd now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Clare, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Looking ahead, Shepherd will venture away from home to face off against Pinconning at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clare, they will face off against Negaunee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
