Basketball Game Preview: Highmore/Harrold Pirates vs. Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots

Highmore/Harrold and Hitchcock-Tulare are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Highmore/Harrold Pirates will be taking part in a tournament against the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Highmore/Harrold will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

If Highmore/Harrold beats Hitchcock-Tulare with 50 points on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Highmore/Harrold took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 50-20 win over Sunshine Bible Academy. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Hitchcock-Tulare came up short against Harding County on Saturday and fell 47-40.

Highmore/Harrold will have to keep a close watch on Gracyn Bixler and Katelyn Schroeder, a pair of players who had a big impact on Hitchcock-Tulare's prior game. Bixler went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points and six boards, while Schroeder posted nine points and eight rebounds. Bixler has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Hitchcock-Tulare now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Highmore/Harrold, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Highmore/Harrold came up short against Hitchcock-Tulare in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 52-48. Can Highmore/Harrold avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
