Baseball Recap: Slaton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Slaton won against Dimmitt on Friday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Tigers beat the Muleshoe Mules by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Riley Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

Slaton pushed their record up to 8-15-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Muleshoe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Slaton nor Muleshoe have any future games scheduled.
