Volleyball Recap: St. Paul's Comes Up Short

St. Paul lost against Austin Prep back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Big Red fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2.

St. Paul's actually scored more points across those five sets (117-116), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-22, 27-29, 19-25, 17-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Austin Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia McSorley, who had 20 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs gave McSorley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Quinn McBride, who had four aces and three digs.

St. Paul's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Austin Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul's will square off against Milton Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Austin Prep, they will face off against Proctor Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
