Soccer Game Preview: Perry vs. Wayne County

The Perry Panthers will head out to square off against the Wayne County Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Perry, who comes in off a win.

If Wayne County heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Perry took over last week. Perry blew past Ware County 4-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wayne County didn't have quite enough to beat Warner Robins on Friday and fell 3-2. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Perry is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five matches. Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Perry took their victory against Wayne County in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Perry since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
