Arleta is 8-2 against Chavez since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Arleta Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Chavez Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Arleta will be strutting in after a victory while Chavez will be coming in after a loss.

Arleta will bounce into Friday's match after beating Grant, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Arleta pulled ahead with a 73-72 photo finish over Grant on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 77-36 loss at the hands of Verdugo Hills. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Arleta pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Chavez, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

Everything came up roses for Arleta against Chavez in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 78-27 victory. Will Arleta repeat their success, or does Chavez have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
