Softball Game Preview: Scio Loggers vs. Taft Tigers

Scio is a perfect 5-0 against Taft since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Loggers will welcome the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Scio will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Scio is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Jefferson on Friday as they made off with a 32-1 victory. The Loggers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Taft lost 16-6 to Santiam Christian on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Scio's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Everything went Scio's way against Taft when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Scio made off with a 15-1 win. Will the Loggers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
