Basketball Game Preview: Metro Tech Knights vs. Central Bobcats

Metro Tech is 0-10 against Central since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Metro Tech Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Central Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Metro Tech is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They were dealt an 84-44 loss at the hands of Agua Fria.

Meanwhile, Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Carl Hayden Community. The matchup was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but the Bobcats couldn't quite close it out.

Metro Tech will have to contain Eric Butler as he made an impact in Central's last game. He dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance also gave Butler a new career-high in steals (six). Grant Mattingly was another key player, putting up ten points and six assists.

Central's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for Metro Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Metro Tech was dealt a bruising 64-18 defeat at the hands of Central when the teams last played on December 2nd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mattingly, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Now that Metro Tech knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
