Volleyball Game Preview: Nipomo Titans vs. Morro Bay Pirates

The Nipomo Titans will venture away from home to take on the Morro Bay Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nipomo will be strutting in after a victory while Morro Bay will be coming in after a defeat.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Nipomo and Mission College Prep have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Nipomo blew past Mission College Prep 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won six in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Nipomo was: they took every set by at least 25 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-0, 27-0.

Meanwhile, Morro Bay didn't have quite enough to beat Orcutt Academy on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Morro Bay actually scored more points across those five sets (109-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Nipomo pushed their record up to 16-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Morro Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Nipomo couldn't quite get it done against Morro Bay in their previous matchup on March 1st as they fell 2-0. Can Nipomo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
