Basketball Recap: Brownell Talbot Comes Up Short

Brownell Talbot extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They took a hard 63-46 fall against the Plattsmouth Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 38th).

When it comes to explaining why Brownell Talbot lost, don't look at Ivan Pfeffer. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points and seven boards. Pfeffer is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last four games he's played. Ben Militsakh was another key player, putting up seven points.

As for Plattsmouth, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games.

Nathan Frederick produced another solid performance going 8-for-11 to rack up 24 points. Another player making a difference was Traceson Skalberg, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Brownell Talbot wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-35 defeat against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the 31st. As for Plattsmouth, they have also already played their next contest, a 43-35 win against Elmwood-Murdock on the 31st.
