Softball Recap: Coosa Valley Academy Takes a Loss

Coosa Valley Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 9-2 to the Evangel Christian Lightning. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, with their most recent defeat being a 14-2 loss back in March.

Corlee Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Coosa Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Evangel Christian, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Coosa Valley Academy will face off against Chambers Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Evangel Christian, they will square off against Ezekiel Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lightning surely won't give up without a fight.
