Football Recap: Bloomington Purple Raiders vs. Kankakee Kays

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bloomington can now relate to. They lost 27-7 to the Kankakee Kays on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 31 points in the game before, the Purple Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

AJ Codron threw for 35 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Norton was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards. On the ground, Rob Lanier rushed for 87 yards.

Leading Kankakee to victory were James Stampley and Phillip Turner. Stampley gained 63 total yards and two touchdowns, while Turner threw for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Bloomington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Kankakee, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
