Western fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Marshall on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redhawks. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked the Panthers' highest-scoring game to date.

Western saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Levy, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That RBI was Levy's first of the season.

Western is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Marshall, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Western will head out on the road to square off against Michigan Center at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marshall, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fowlerville at 4:00 p.m.
