Baseball Game Preview: Delta Charter Storm vs. West Ouachita Chiefs

The Delta Charter Storm will head out to square off against the West Ouachita Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Delta Charter has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Delta Charter came up short against Delhi Charter on Monday, falling 16-6. The Storm have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Delta Charter got a good showing from Riley Butts, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Tyrin Singleton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayton Fife, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for West Ouachita's offense. They fell 4-0 to Cedar Creek on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Chiefs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Delta Charter's record now sits at 6-8. As for West Ouachita, their record now sits at 11-8.
