Basketball Recap: Odyssey Institute Takes a Loss

Odyssey Institute lost against Highland Prep back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Odyssey Institute Minotaur were outmatched by the Highland Prep Honey Badgers and fell 48-17.

Several Minotaur players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gwendolyn Carricart, who posted five points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Carricart has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Shelby Hunt, who scored eight points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Odyssey Institute dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Highland Prep, they moved to 14-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Odyssey Institute wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-11 loss against ALA - West Foothills on the 29th. Highland Prep has also already played their next contest (against River Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
