Gateway extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from V'Davrielle Johnson. The Gateway Eagles strolled past the Manatee Hurricanes with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 45-27 thanks in part to Johnson, who posted 22 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Manatee's loss came despite strong showings from Justine Wilson and Alexandra Williams`. Wilson earned eight points, while Williams` had eight points. Williams` continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Gateway is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points per game. As for Manatee, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Gateway has already played their next matchup, a 61-27 win against Bonita Springs on the 21st. As for Manatee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-41 victory against Palmetto on the 21st.
