Basketball Recap: Morgantown Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Harman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morgantown Christian Academy). They claimed a resounding 86-26 victory over the Harman Panthers. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 29 points or more this season.

Morgantown Christian Academy was led to victory by Cole Mathess and Cade Spicer. Mathess went 8 of 11 on his way to 17 points along with six boards and five steals, while Spicer went 7 for 9 en route to 16 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Mathess is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 29 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Lemley, who went 5 of 12 en route to 11 points and three steals.

With the win, Morgantown Christian Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-4. As for Harman, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgantown Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Parkersburg Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkersburg Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
