Soccer Game Preview: Apple Valley vs. Sultana

On Monday, Apple Valley beat Burroughs 3-1. That's two games straight that the Sun Devils have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Burroughs with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Andy Romero, Christopher Palacios, and Alexander Palacios.

Meanwhile, Sultana hasn't lost a match since January 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Monday. They skirted past Hesperia 2-1. Given the Sultans' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Scorpions are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sultana is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven contests. As for Apple Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-4.
