Basketball Recap: Mcewen Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

If Houston County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played McEwen, they should've done a better job of containing Laila Downs. The McEwen Warriors took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 80-32 victory over the Houston County Fighting Irish thanks in part to Downs, who shot 6-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a triple-double on 50 points, 16 boards, and 15 steals. The match was her 24th in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Shana Bohanon, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.

McEwen is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.4 points. As for Houston County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Coincidentally, McEwen and Houston County will both be playing Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central the next time they take the court. McEwen will head out to face Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Houston County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
