Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Eagles vs. Alta Hawks

Skyline is 0-5 against Alta since December of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Skyline Eagles duke it out with the Alta Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Skyline didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Brighton, but they still walked away with a 67-62 win.

Skyline's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Wilson, who posted 15 points. The game was Wilson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Andrew Lindquist was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Alta came tearing into Friday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Leopards as they made off with a 67-46 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Alta's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Skyline, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Skyline lost to Alta at home by a decisive 63-44 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Skyline avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
