Softball Recap: Highland Park Comes Up Short

Highland Park and New Egypt squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Highland Park had to settle for second. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 22-2. The Owls were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Highland Park moved to 14-10-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for New Egypt, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Highland Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Egypt, they will square off against Florence Township Memorial on Tuesday. The Flashes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
