Baseball Recap: Dayton Takes a Loss

Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 12-0 to the Villa Madonna Vikings. If the Greendevils were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Villa Madonna, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dayton will challenge Grant County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Greendevils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Villa Madonna, they will welcome Lloyd Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
