Baseball Recap: Notre Dame (SO) Gets the Win

Notre Dame (SO) won the last time they faced Loyola and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Cubs. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly four runs.

JuJu Diaz-Jones tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacob Madrid, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Norolan, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

The win got Notre Dame (SO) back to even at 12-12. As for Loyola, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9.

Notre Dame (SO) will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cubs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
