Basketball Recap: Webb City Takes a Loss

Webb City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carl Junction Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 49th).

Despite the loss, Webb City still got an impressive performance from Holton Keith, who went 8 of 14 en route to 17 points and five assists. Eli Pace was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Even though they lost, Webb City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Webb City now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Carl Junction, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Webb City has already played their next contest (against McDonald County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Carl Junction will take on St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
