Volleyball Game Preview: Math & Science College Preparatory Sharks vs. New West Charter Eagles

Math & Science College Preparatory is 1-9 against New West Charter since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sharks will square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Math & Science College Preparatory will be strutting in after a victory while New West Charter will be coming in after a loss.

Math & Science College Preparatory took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Horace Mann UCLA Community 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Math & Science College Preparatory was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-9, 25-11.

Meanwhile, New West Charter came up short against Larchmont Charter on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Timberwolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.

New West Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Math & Science College Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Math & Science College Preparatory skirted past New West Charter 3-2 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
