Softball Game Preview: Canyon Crest Academy Ravens vs. Chula Vista Spartans

The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will venture away from home to face off against the Chula Vista Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon Crest Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Chula Vista will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Canyon Crest Academy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Ravens came out on top against Valley Center by a score of 9-5.

The team relied heavily on Alexis McNamee, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Melony Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

McNamee wasn't the only one making solid contact: Canyon Crest Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Chula Vista hadn't done well against Bayfront Charter recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Sharks with a sharp 10-0 victory. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.

Canyon Crest Academy's record now sits at 11-6-1. As for Chula Vista, their record is now 7-5.

Everything went Canyon Crest Academy's way against Chula Vista in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, as Canyon Crest Academy made off with a 17-3 win. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
