After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palm Beach Central, Dr. Joaquin Garcia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the King's Academy Lions. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Lions back in February, they had to take a 15-6 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Mackenzie Gerst, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Ella Mae Lipp, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King's Academy only posted a batting average of .207.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia's record is now 8-6. As for King's Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wellington at 6:30 p.m. on April 1st. King's Academy also won't see the field for a while: their next game is against Somerset Academy - Canyons at 6:00 p.m. on April 1st. Somerset Academy - Canyons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something King's Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
