Softball Game Preview: San Pasqual Golden Eagles vs. Rancho Bernardo Broncos

The San Pasqual Golden Eagles will face off against the Rancho Bernardo Broncos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

Friday just wasn't the day for San Pasqual's offense. They fell 5-0 to Poway on Friday.

Kayleigh Carby was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, San Pasqual saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally McKinley, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Rancho Bernardo had taken San Marcos down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Broncos fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Broncos have lost by just one run.

Charlotte Savarese was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

Rancho Bernardo's loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1. As for San Pasqual, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

San Pasqual beat Rancho Bernardo 7-4 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
