Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamar). Everything went their way against the Sunset Bison on Saturday as the Lamar Vikings made off with a 15-3 win. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
Nathalie Dermas was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Wynn Stodnick, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Lamar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
Lamar's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sunset, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
