Softball Recap: Connellsville Triumphs

Connellsville's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Uniontown Red Raiders, sneaking past 4-3. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.

Kendal King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Connellsville saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cali Leichliter, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Addison Lloyd also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Connellsville's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Uniontown, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Connellsville is taking a road trip to challenge Greensburg Salem at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Uniontown, they will host Charleroi at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
