Soccer Game Preview: Roxana vs. Freeburg + How To Watch

Roxana hasn't had much luck against Freeburg recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Shells will head out on the road to square off against the Midgets at 5:30 p.m. Roxana has given up an average of 4.3 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Roxana fell victim to Maryville Christian and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Roxana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while Maryville Christian are ranked 182nd).

Meanwhile, Freeburg lost 4-1 to Father McGivney Catholic on Saturday. One thing that didn't help Freeburg's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Dathan Krauss.

Freeburg's goal came courtesy of Ethan Zobrist, which was the first he's scored this season.

Roxana's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Freeburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Roxana might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Freeburg when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Shells were down 3-0.
