Baseball Recap: Harrisonville Gets the Win

Harrisonville lost to Clinton back in May of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 22nd.

Ben Mahurin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Harrisonville's record is now 21-3. As for Clinton, they moved to 13-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrisonville will welcome Fort Osage at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clinton, they will face off against Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
