Baseball Recap: Anthony Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Anthony hadn't done well against Tornillo recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Coyotes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-6 back in March.

Josue Moncayo and Diego Saucedo did most of the damage at the plate: Moncayo scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Saucedo scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Jesus Arteaga was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Anthony's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12-1. As for Tornillo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Anthony is set to square off against their familiar foe Kermit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Wildcats' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Yellow Jackets have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Tornillo will face off against rival Presidio at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
