Preview: Jordan Red Jackets vs. Carver Tigers
The Jordan Red Jackets will take on the Carver Tigers in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Jordan has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Carver will arrive with seven straight wins.
Jordan pushed their score all the way to 55 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-55 to Columbus. While losing is never fun, Jordan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while Columbus is ranked 165th).
Carver has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 78-54 margin over Shaw.
Jakobe Caslin and Tony Montgomery were among the main playmakers for Carver as the former scored 15 points along with five steals and the latter scored 29 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Montgomery 's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Champ Simpson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Jordan's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Carver, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Jordan suffered a grim 96-74 defeat to Carver in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can Jordan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
