Softball Game Preview: Good Hope Raiders vs. West Morgan Rebels

The Good Hope Raiders will take on the West Morgan Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Good Hope has five straight wins, West Morgan has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Good Hope's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Hanceville with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Natalie Miller was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Miller wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Good Hope kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for West Morgan's offense. They came up short against Curry on Monday, falling 14-0.

Good Hope's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for West Morgan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1.

Good Hope couldn't quite get it done against West Morgan when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can Good Hope avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
