Recap: Mooreville Troopers vs. Humphreys County Cowboys
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Mooreville Troopers walked away with it. They walked away with a 27-20 victory over Humphreys County on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Mooreville as they're now sitting on three straight.
Brody Thompson was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Eli Hussey was in the mix as well, providing Mooreville with two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Humphreys County still got an impressive performance from Ollizous Brent, who rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Brent really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
Mooreville's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Humphreys County, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-3.
Mooreville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Amanda Elzy at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Amanda Elzy is ranked 79th, while Mooreville is ranked 103rd). Humphreys County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
