Volleyball Recap: Eugene Comes Up Short

Eugene was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Warsaw Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Eugene took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-13, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Kebrina Hugen and Lydia Hale, who picked up two kills apiece. Hugen really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with four. Finally, she was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Warsaw, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eugene will host Smithton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Warsaw, they will challenge Conway at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
