Basketball Game Preview: Servite Friars vs. Hesperia Scorpions

Having just played yesterday, the Servite Friars will get right back to it and host the Hesperia Scorpions at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Servite is headed into Saturday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were beaten by JSerra Catholic 80-38 on Friday. The contest marked the Friars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hesperia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 83-78 to Alameda. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Hornets are ranked 156th).

Servite's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Hesperia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
