Recap: Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs vs. Kirksville Tigers
The Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They took down Kirksville 59-41. Given Fort Zumwalt South's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Tigers are ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Zumwalt South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Bensing, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cam Brown, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Fort Zumwalt South has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Kirksville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Fort Zumwalt South is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Kirksville, they will challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
