Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Bridge City's Winning Streak

Bridge City lost against Lumberton back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cardinals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Defeat or not, Bridge City got some senior leadership from Presley Ducote and Kaylee Britten. Ducote had nine assists and seven digs, while Britten had 12 digs and three assists.

The loss snapped Bridge City's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 15-3 record. As for Lumberton, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Bridge City has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Kingwood Park on the 23rd. As for Lumberton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Tatum on the 23rd.
