Baseball Recap: Roaring Fork Has No Trouble Against Aspen

Roaring Fork came out on top against Aspen on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Rams blew past the Skiers 10-0. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Skiers on Wednesday, they had to take a 16-7 defeat.

Cole Fenton made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Fenton was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Josiah Wheeless was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Donny Read, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Roaring Fork's record now sits at 7-16. As for Aspen, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Roaring Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aspen, they will square off against Battle Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
