Softball Recap: Riverton Has No Trouble Against Copper Hills

Riverton won the last time they faced Copper Hills and things went their way on Thursday too. The Silverwolves put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 16-2 win. The Silverwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Peyton Sanchez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Sanchez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaydan Bushman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Aspen Roberts was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI.

Riverton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Copper Hills only posted an OBP of .235.

Riverton's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Copper Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Riverton will be playing in front of their home fans against Taylorsville at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Copper Hills, they will venture away from home to challenge Herriman at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
