Basketball Recap: Frederick Douglass Falls to Great Crossing in First Game of Season

Frederick Douglass unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 78-70 to Great Crossing on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with Great Crossing: they've now lost three in a row.

Great Crossing pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Frederick Douglass will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tates Creek at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Great Crossing, they and Covington Catholic will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
