Football Recap: Avon Lake Comes Up Short

After flying high against Elyria last Friday, Avon Lake came back down to earth. The Shoremen fell 25-21 to the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs on Friday. The Shoremen have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Avon Lake's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Olmsted Falls, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Coming up, Avon Lake will host North Ridgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Olmsted Falls, they will face off against Berea-Midpark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
