Baseball Recap: Wauconda Find Success

The Wauconda Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Sycamore Spartans 7-5 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

The team relied heavily on Blake Swanson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Wauconda is 7-1 when Swanson posts two or more runs, but 11-13 otherwise. Ryan Fostiak was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Wauconda's record is now 18-14. As for Sycamore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wauconda will host Lake Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sycamore, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against East Moline United at 11:00 a.m.
