Volleyball Recap: Tigerton Tigers vs. Stockbridge
With a playoff game on the line, Tigerton rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Stockbridge. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the , too.
Tigerton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 15-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-13.
Tigerton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jade Selle out in front who had 30 digs, 14 kills, and two aces. Selle is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Danika Tiller, who had 17 digs, three kills, and 39 assists.
Tigerton pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Stockbridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.
Tigerton will challenge Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stockbridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
