Softball Game Preview: St. Brendan Sabres vs. Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack

The St. Brendan Sabres will head out to square off against the Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Brendan has five straight wins, Schoolhouse Prep has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, St. Brendan made easy work of Miami Springs and carried off a 16-1 victory. The Sabres might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Coral Latshaw was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Aubrey Piaia was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

St. Brendan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .909. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .417 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Schoolhouse Prep came up short against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) on Tuesday and fell 4-1.

Analys Uriarte was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.

Schoolhouse Prep's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for St. Brendan, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

St. Brendan suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Schoolhouse Prep when the teams last played on March 3rd. Can St. Brendan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
